Job Summary
Join our dynamic team in the Health Regulation Division (HRD) and
leverage your financial management skills to help us ensure
compliance with the laws and regulations that safeguard
Minnesotans.
The Financial Analyst position will work with the Budget Manager to
establish and manage a $60 million dollar budget that includes
federal grants and contracts, and state funds (general and state
government special revenue). This includes estimating expenditure
needs, developing submissions to funders, monitoring revenues and
expenditures through the state accounting system and ensuring
appropriate reimbursement payments.
The position will collaborate with division management and staff to
implement fiscal policies and provide technical support for budget
development and management. This role will also work closely with
the Financial Management and Internal Audit teams to ensure
accurate accounting and reporting of state and federal budgets for
HRD.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota or South Dakota. Position
location will be determined by the top candidate and will be based
out of one of the following MDH office locations: St. Paul, St.
Cloud, Duluth, Rochester, Mankato, Marshall, Bemidji, Fergus
Falls.
Occasional travel to the St. Paul office location for in-person
meetings may be required. Reimbursement for authorized business
travel expenses is provided according to bargaining unit
guidelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years* of experience in financial management or
accounting that includes all of the following:
Knowledge, skills and abilities to be assessed during the interview
process:
*A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Health
Information Management, or related field with an emphasis on
financial management may substitute for experience as described
below:
