Rockford Veterinary Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical
facility, located in Rockford, MN. From wellness exams and vaccines
to advanced diagnostics and complex surgical procedures, we ensure
that the small animal companions of Rockford and the surrounding
communities will receive the highest quality care at our
hospital.
Position Purpose
Our practice is eager to add another Veterinary
Technician/Veterinary Assistant to our team! At Rockford Veterinary
Clinic we are committed to providing compassionate and quality
wellness, medical, surgical and dental care for our highly valued
patients. Currently, we are seeking a full time (30-40 hours) or
part time veterinary technician/veterinary assistant. Experience is
preferred, but not required. Applicants should possess a
willingness to work as a team, be friendly, patient, self-motivated
and be efficient at multi-tasking. Excellent communication skills,
both verbal and written, are a must.
Our technicians utilize their abilities in anesthesia, surgery,
dentistry, digital radiology, laser therapy, laboratory sample
collection & processing, client education and more. Certification
is preferred, but not required.
Our veterinary assistants support veterinarians and technicians in
exams, treatments, medical records, laboratory sample collection &
processing, digital radiology, laser therapy, client education and
more. Veterinary assistant training or experience is preferred, but
not required.
Operating hours: M- Th 8am-6pm and Fri 8am-5pm. No weekend
hours!
Anticipated schedule for this position: 8 - 10 hours per day, 2 - 4
days per week
Pay Range for position:
Veterinary Assistant $16-20
Credentialed technician $20-$26
Full time (30 - 40 hours) / Part time (Competencies

medications, patient instructions, workflow, and other job-related
items while managing multiple patients and clients.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions
result in the highest level of client satisfaction. Essential
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and
surgery and other tasks as needed.
- Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories,
vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client
education.
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs of the
patient during surgery.
- Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital
laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside
laboratories.
- Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety
procedures.
- Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during
exams.
- Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and
treatments at the discretion of the veterinarian.
- Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas;
restock exam rooms with supplies. Assist other team members to keep
the public areas of the practice clean; clean and maintain all
medical equipment.
- Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism in all
interactions with clients; exercise compassion and care in all
interactions with patients.
- Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members
including client discussions, patient plans, client concerns,
etc.
- Any other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications
- State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered
veterinary technician in state of desired employment
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds;
ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with
assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications,
etc.
- Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety Benefits

Pay Range
USD $16.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
